Glenn Hopfner was born August 8th, 1949, at Sainte Rose du lac, Manitoba. The middle sibling in a family of nine children, five boys and four girls. He was raised a farmer's son working with machinery from a young age. He was the class clown, loved sports, creative writing and music. He studied music and art at Brandon University in Manitoba. He gained many experiences and knowledge at many different jobs that he took to help pay the mortgages on his farm and golf course. He brought this with him to Churchill for these last ten seasons, and that has helped him immensely in becoming an expert guide, interpreter, trouble-shooter, mechanic, entertainer and now author.
